New MOODY School News!- updated Tue Jan 13, 5:00PM
Hello to all our Moody Elementary B8 families,
(Porter, Seaview and Pleasantside no new info for you!)
The first morning went splendidly! It really helped that the children were all excited to go to their new school!
Afternoon went mildly smoothly. Unfortunately none of the Moody Elementary students are not allowed to play on the grass at the new school so we had to make a quick decision and move the red and blue pinnies to Chip Kerr Park. Going forward they will be walking straight to the OLD Moody school to play at dismissal time.

Morning plans:
Spring Street:
8:10 Children will begin getting ready to go
8:20 Children and teachers will be picked up from Spring Street and driven to the new school. They will play outdoors, supervised as usual, until they are transferred to the care of their school teachers.
Moody Street:
8:30 Children in grades 2-5 will walk from the centre, up to St George Street, down St. George street and cross at the crosswalk on Buller street. They will be supervised until bell time and they are in the care of their teachers.
8:40 Children in kindergarten and grade 1 will be bussed to school and will be supervised until bell time and they are in the care of their teachers.
Families are welcome to drop their children off at the school with their Block 8 teacher. We don't know exactly where we will be playing at this time. This will be explained in an email once the move happens. If you absolutely must drop off with B8 at the school next week, please look for one of our teachers wearing their GREEN ARM BAND.
Please DO NOT attempt to drop off your children as we are walking to school! Fraser Health has strict rules regarding the transfer of care, these rules are for the safety of your children and our staff.

After school plans:
These plans HAVE CHANGED!
All Moody elementary students will exit the new school from the door by the office, our teachers will be waiting for them against the wall, wearing our green armbands. SEE VIDEOS BELOW
Moody Street Kindergarten and Grade 1:
After attendance and pinnies, children will be driven straight to the OLD Moody Elementary (across from Block 8, on Moody Street) to enjoy their outdoor play time. They will then walk to the centre as usual.
Spring Street:
After attendance and pinnies we will play at the new school for about 20 minutes or so. Then, all students, teachers and support staff will be driven straight to GRANT STREET to walk to the centre as usual. This will take TWO bus runs. The PINK pinnies will be driven first while the yellow pinnies play a bit longer. We'll have a more specific time as to when they will leave the new school and when they will arrive at the centre next week.
Moody Street Grades 2-5:
After attendance and pinnies the children will walk straight to the OLD Moody School and be back at the centre by 3:50ish as usual.
Please DO NOT pick up children who are walking from school to the centre! Fraser Health has strict rules regarding the transfer of care, these rules are for the safety of your children and our staff.

Porter, Seaview & Pleasantside:
PORTER:
All students will be dropped off at the current Moody Elementary (across from Block 8, on Moody Street) for their afternoon play time as usual.
SEAVIEW:
All students will have their after school outdoor time at Seaview elementary. We will no longer have two groups coming down to Moody at different times. We expect to leave Seaview Elementary around 3:40 but will keep you updated as this new plan is in place.
Pleasantside Family Drop-Off:
Please drop your child off at the NEW Moody Elementary for their afternoon play time with the rest of their B8 class. They will be transported along with the rest of the Spring Street classes around 3:20. It may be easier for Pleasantside families to drop off at the centre around 3:40. We'll all be learning this together!
All Families:
Please understand that we do not know exact times just yet; we expect that the first few days will be a learning experience for us all. We'll be getting 20 children at a time into the new bus, seatbelted and sitting, driving them to the field and then getting them (and all their backpacks, umbrellas, art projects and missing gloves...) out, this may take up to 20 minutes and will be done three times each afternoon. Once we all get the hang of the new routine it will be easier.
Thanks for your patience! :)
