A tessellation is a pattern made of repeating shapes that cover a surface completely without overlapping. Today we made our own M.C. Escher inspired Christmas tree! A great lesson in working together and artist collaboration!

Reach out. If you are still unsure about what kind of weather to expect and thus what kind of clothing to pack, reach out to a friend, family member, or colleague who has visited your destination for pointers. Additionally, many major cities have travel or tourism bureaus.

In geometry, a tessellation is a repeating pattern of polygons that covers a plane without any gaps or overlaps. These shapes are called tiles. Tessellations can be found in a wide variety of contexts, including ancient mosaics, Islamic geometric design, and mathematics education.
Tessellations have been used in a variety of cultures for centuries. The most famous example is probably the pattern of interlocking hexagons found in the floor of the mosque at the University of Al Quaraouiyine in Fes, Morocco. This design, which dates back to the 9th century, uses a repetitive motif of six-sided tiles to create a complex and visually stunning pattern.
In mathematics, tessellations can be used to study a variety of topics, including geometry, symmetry, and Escher's "Drawings for Illustrations of the Plane" from his 1956 book, "Regular Division of the Plane".
